TallyNexa is a finance layer for businesses that keep their books in TallyPrime or Tally ERP 9. It mirrors your books to the cloud and turns them into a cash forecast, a collections worklist, GST and TDS checks, stock alerts and plain-English answers — on any phone or browser. Your books stay in Tally, and your team keeps working the way it does today. No migration, no re-entry, no new accounting software.

Nexa AI reads only your books. It picks from a fixed set of reports, answers from what they return, and matches every figure back to the source. Anything it cannot trace is flagged, never hidden. Example: "Which customers slowed down paying this quarter?"

## How it works

1. **Install the connector.** A small Windows app on the PC that runs Tally. It talks to Tally through Tally's own local XML gateway — no TDL to install, nothing to configure inside Tally.
2. **Pick your companies.** Choose which companies to sync and how far back. The first import brings your history; after that, only what changed. Every sync is checked with control totals.
3. **Open TallyNexa anywhere.** On your phone, your laptop or your CA's screen — even when the office PC is off. Every screen shows when the books were last synced.

Data path: Tally on your PC → TallyNexa Connector (reads, sends only changes, encrypted) → TallyNexa mirror (hosted in India) → phone and browser, Nexa AI, and ChatGPT or Claude over MCP. Approved vouchers travel back to Tally.

## Nexa AI: AI that verifies before it answers

A wrong number in accounting is worse than no number, because someone will file a return on it. Every figure in a Nexa AI answer is labelled:

- **Read** — taken directly from a report over your books.
- **Derived** — arithmetic on figures that were read: a total, a change, a share.
- **Unsupported** — not traceable to your books. Flagged in the answer, never quietly left in.

Principles:

- It never touches your database. Nexa picks reports from a fixed catalogue; TallyNexa runs them. The model never writes a query.
- The same numbers as your reports. Nexa reads through the same report engine you use.
- Every answer carries its sync: vouchers mirrored, ledgers mirrored, and when the last sync ran.

**How can I see my Tally data on my phone?**
Install the TallyNexa connector on the Windows PC that runs Tally, choose the companies to sync, and sign in to TallyNexa on your phone or any browser. The first sync imports your history; after that only changes are sent. You can then read reports, outstanding bills and cash on your phone even when the office PC is switched off.

**Does TallyNexa work with TallyPrime and Tally ERP 9?**
Yes. The connector talks to Tally through Tally's own local XML gateway, which both TallyPrime and Tally ERP 9 provide. No TDL file has to be installed in Tally, and your Tally data file is never edited by TallyNexa.

**Does TallyNexa change anything in my Tally?**

**Does Tally need to stay open all the time?**

**How does Nexa AI avoid making up numbers?**
Nexa AI never writes database queries and never sees your whole database. It picks reports from a fixed catalogue, TallyNexa runs them, and Nexa writes its answer from those results only. **Can I connect ChatGPT or Claude to my Tally data?**
Yes. TallyNexa provides a read-only MCP endpoint with 23 tools. ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor or any MCP client can read your books with the same permissions as your login, limited to the companies you can see.

**Where is my Tally data stored, and is it safe?**
Your mirrored books are stored on servers in India, encrypted in transit and at rest. Each business is separated at the database level, and your accountant or CA only sees the companies you give them access to.
