Get a daily Tally report on WhatsApp every morning

Owners read WhatsApp before they open a laptop. A short summary of the business there, every morning, gets read more often than a dashboard nobody opens.

Updated 22 October 2026 · By the TallyNexa team

Short answer: TallyNexa reads your TallyPrime books through its connector and sends a daily summary on WhatsApp at 8 am to the people you choose: sales, collections, cash and bank, cheques due and overdue customers. For anything more, say hi on the same chat and pick from the menu, or ask a question in your own words.

What a useful morning summary holds

  • Sales, for the day and the month so far.
  • Collections received.
  • Cash and bank balances.
  • Cheques due to be deposited or presented.
  • Customers who have gone overdue.

A few lines that fit on one screen. Anything longer belongs in a report you open when you need it.

Doing it by hand

Many offices do this today: an accountant opens TallyPrime in the morning, notes sales, receipts and bank balances, and sends a message or a screenshot to the owner. It works, but it depends on one person being in early every day, and the figures are typed again by hand.

TallyPrime’s own WhatsApp feature, from Release 4.0 with an active subscription, shares documents and reports you choose, such as an invoice or a statement, from inside Tally. It is made for sending a document to a party or a colleague at the moment you choose.

Set it up with TallyNexa

  1. Install the TallyNexa connector on the Windows computer that runs TallyPrime (tallynexa.ai/download), and set TallyPrime’s Client/Server configuration once: TallyPrime acts as Both, Enable ODBC Yes, Port 9000.
  2. Open the companies in TallyPrime and choose the books TallyNexa may read. The first read goes month by month and takes minutes for most books.
  3. In TallyNexa, choose who should get the summary, such as the owner, a partner or the finance head, and give their WhatsApp numbers.
  4. The summary arrives at 8 am each day.

If the office computer is off overnight, the summary still comes, showing the books as of the last sync. Turn the computer on and open Tally, and new entries catch up within minutes.

The WhatsApp menu

The summary answers "how did we do yesterday". For the next question, use the same chat:

  1. Say hi.
  2. Pick from the menu, for example outstanding customers or cash and bank.
  3. Or type your question in your own words, such as "How much does Sharma Traders owe us?"

Questions in your own words are answered by Nexa AI from your books. Each figure is marked as read from the book or worked out, so you know which numbers come straight from Tally.

Who should get it

Send it to the people who act on it: the owner and partners, and a sales or finance head if they chase dues. A summary that goes to ten people and is acted on by none is noise.

Make it a habit

A summary is only as good as the books behind it. Ask the office to post the day’s sales and receipts by evening. If a figure looks wrong in the morning, it usually points to an entry not yet made, which is worth knowing early.

Use it as the start of a short daily routine: read the summary, call one overdue customer, and check that the cheques due will clear. Five minutes before the day begins is often enough.

When you need more than the summary

The summary is a first look, not the whole picture. When a line needs a closer look, open TallyNexa in any browser on your phone or computer:

  • Receivables, to see which bills make up an overdue customer’s balance and to send a reminder.
  • Cash flow, to see what is due in and out over the coming weeks.
  • The 41 reports, each with your own dates and filters, and each one downloadable to Excel.

You can also ask Nexa AI to make a weekly or monthly report and put it on a schedule, so a fuller picture reaches your mailbox on the day you choose while the morning summary stays short.

Privacy

The summary goes only to the people you choose. TallyNexa keeps data in India and encrypts it in transit.

TallyNexa is built for TallyPrime and is not affiliated with Tally Solutions.
